A security guard who slipped on a wet floor has received an out-of-court settlement of $650,000 thanks to the team at Carbone Lawyers.

The 29-year-old worker suffered physical and psychiatric injuries after slipping over on an area of flooring that was in the process of being cleaned. The company that was contracted to do the cleaning failed to display a warning sign that signified cleaning was underway and the floor was slippery.

The young man, who required spinal surgery, was compensated for his pain and suffering, as well as past and future loss of earnings.
