I have successfully managed a Workcover approved Occupational Rehabilitation Service
provider group for about 20 years.
With my various qualifications and extensive experience, I have successfully
developed treatment programs to manage Hand injuries, Chronic Pain and Stress
management following any physical injuries and medical or related psychological
ailments.
I also provide a complete functional assessment and independent opinion for any
medico-legal purposes.
Clinical Expertise:
*Chronic PAIN MANAGEMENT:
This program is suitable for individuals suffering from any painful medical or
muscular-skeletal injury: –
– Covers Education about injury focusing on functional independence,
– Counselling for modified work, posture & ADL techniques,
– Adapted aids and appliance recommendation,
– Pain control by Acupuncture (Needle, Laser, Cupping, Moxabustion) and
– Bowen Therapy;
– Psychological interventions- Relaxation techniques and Hypnosis, as needed.
*STRESS/Anxiety MANAGEMENT:
For individuals showing signs of anxiety, adjustment disorders, stress or reactive
depression following chronic pain or injuries.
This service can be provided in conjunction with the Pain management.
Treatment strategies include CBT and RET Counselling, Relaxation therapy
(Imagery and Progressive Muscular), Assertiveness, Problem solving, Decisionmaking and Communication skills training as well as Hypnosis.
*HAND THERAPY:
Focus is to improve the hand & upper arm functioning and includes:
Scar management, Desensitisation, Static splinting, Mobilisation, Stretching and
Strengthening exercises program to improve hand function & strength.
It covers conditions like post fractures, tenosynovitis, pre and post surgery for carpel
tunnel, tennis and golf elbow, amputations etc.
