On 8 January 2019, Nella Lettieri narrowly escaped death after a sign on the Tullamarine Freeway fell from above and crushed her car as she drove underneath.

This event, that was caught on video, has captivated many around the world and has left motorists concerned after it was found that two other signs in Metropolitan Melbourne were also missing the same panels that caused the Tullamarine Freeway sign to fall on Ms Lettieri’s vehicle.
